GranManzone is an outstanding and great red wine from Manzone’s cellars. A full-bodied wine combining the red purple colour of Barbera d’Alba, with its fruity and soft spices scent and the body and warm taste of Nebbiolo which grapes are used to make Barolo wine
The two grapes varieties are picked together at the end of October to allow to ferment together in a particular blend that gives to the wine its unique body and a long cellar life.
It is aged for 18 months in big casks of Slavonian oak before being bottled and stored in the cellar prior to its market release.

- Grapes: 70% Barbera d’Alba and 30% Nebbiolo

- Soil: clayey limestone marl
- Colour: ruby red, with nice garnet highlights with orange reflexes which appear on ageing
- Nose: scent of fruit and spices with strains of rose, jam, raspberry, strawberry and cinnamon
- Taste: soft showing of tannin not overbearing. Woodland berry, dark spice and pine forest aromas that lead the way. Great aromas and persistence
- Vinification/Maturing: soft pressing after de-stemming of the type of grapes (Barbera & Nebbiolo), following a maceration in a temperature controlled environment. It is aged for 18 months in big casks of Slavonian oak before being bottled and stored in the cellar prior to its release onto the market
- Ageing Potential: its structure will allow this wine to keep up to 10 years, stored lying down horizontally in a cellar, further enhancing the great character
- Food Match: like all great red wines, GranManzone is ideal with rich dishes including red meats stewed or braised;. Good with mature cheeses too
- Recommended Glass: balloon glasses with decanting
