Vine&Cork goes live!
The first “Open Cellar” event, an evening of fine wine tasting and food, took place at a private venue in Cambridge, where almost fifty invited guests attended and actively engaged in a tour and tasting of exclusive Italian fine wines, carefully selected and sourced directly from the first group of vineyards in Italy, our “Vines”. The journey took our guests through the discovery of the territories, traditions and passion of our winemakers and their products, all washed down with a thirst-quenching amount of knowledge…and of course loads of wine.
The experience offered the chance to appreciate all the products currently offered on our online shop, our “Corks”, and more. From the refreshing award-winning Prosecco of Colvendra’, a vineyard in the heart of Valdobbiadene, to the intriguing Rose’ Ose’ and Spumante Diamant Blanc of Scanavino’s family, to finish with the richness and body of the aged reds, like Merlot, Nebbiolo and Barolo from Giorgio Cecchetto and Manzone Fratelli’s cellars.
People had the chance to approach new wines, new appellations and new grape varieties understanding why Italian wines fit perfectly into British lifestyle. They were guided by our team of experts through wine presentations, smelling tests, tasting trials and score cards, and started to transition from occasional drinker to wine enthusiast with a deeper level of knowledge, while a friendly atmosphere framed this special (warm) summer evening. Vine&Cork, born as a dream, it’s now a reality with the aim to engage more and more people happy to walk the extra mile and become a true enthusiast about wine, wine-making techniques and the culture behind them.
